The texts of Kafka’s diaries, automatic writing and painting are the weapons chosen by Agustín
Bayón to face his fears, save himself and confront his obsessions.
With these weapons, for two days and two nights he will remain in the gallery until he fills its walls with
texts, watercolors and fragments of Kafka’s works, bringing to a close a project-obsession in which
has been immersed for several months.
KAFKA’S SPECTRE was born to save me. but now I have a problem: I don’t know how to leave
his Kafkaesque universe without skipping the life we both share this time.
It is an internal idea that has been accidentally uncovered.
Agustín Bayón.
* Automatic writing or the flow of consciousness is the process or result of writing that does not come
from the conscious thoughts of the writer. It is a way of bringing the unconscious to the surface.
It consists of placing the pencil on the paper and starting to write, letting the thoughts flow without any
moral, social or any other kind of coercion. Sometimes it is done in a trance state, although it is not
necessary for it to be so.
Its purpose is to overcome the censorship exercised on the unconscious, thanks to creative acts not
programmed and without immediate meaning for the consciousness, which escape the author’s will. Then
directly composes the unconscious, freed from censorship.
